Is This Right for You?

People consider liposuction when...

You have localised fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise
You are at or near a stable, healthy weight and want to refine your body contour
You have good skin elasticity in the areas you want to treat
You understand that liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight loss method
What It Involves

Understanding liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes stubborn fat deposits from specific areas of the body, including the abdomen, thighs, flanks, arms, chin, and back. It is a body contouring procedure, not a weight loss treatment.

The procedure uses a thin tube (cannula) inserted through small incisions to suction out fat cells. Several techniques exist including traditional, tumescent, ultrasound-assisted, and laser-assisted liposuction.

Liposuction works best for localised fat deposits that have not responded to diet and exercise. It is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.

Liposuction
Recovery Timeline

What to expect after surgery

1
Day 1 to 3

Soreness similar to a hard workout. Swelling and bruising in treated areas. Fluid leakage from incision sites is normal. Compression garment worn at all times.

2
Week 1

First follow-up appointment. Bruising developing. Walking encouraged to aid recovery. Most discomfort manageable with standard pain relief.

3
Week 2

Many return to desk-based work. Swelling still present but improving. Bruising fading. Compression garment continues.

4
Week 3 to 4

Feeling significantly more comfortable. Light exercise can resume. Treated areas may still feel firm or lumpy, which is normal.

5
Week 6

Most activity restrictions lifted. Compression garment may be discontinued with surgeon approval. Contour improvements becoming visible.

6
Month 3 to 6

Swelling fully resolves. Final body contour becomes apparent. Skin retracts and settles over the treated areas.

Indicative Pricing

What does liposuction cost?

$5,000 to $15,000

We know. Crazy range, right?

How can there possibly be such a big difference? Because every quote includes different things. Surgeon fees, hospital costs, anaesthetist, implants, aftercare. Some quotes bundle everything. Others add extras later.

Everyone is looking for something different, and we factor that in when we support you. We help you compare quotes like for like so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Your concierge breaks down every quote and explains the differences so you can compare with confidence.

Indicative range depending on the number of areas treated, the technique used, and the surgeon. Treating multiple areas in one session increases the total cost. Always request a full itemised breakdown.

Why Use Pirk

Liposuction seems straightforward, but the details matter more than you might expect

Different techniques (tumescent, VASER, laser-assisted) suit different body areas and fat types. Your Pirk concierge helps you understand what each surgeon is recommending and why.

Pricing for liposuction varies enormously because quotes are structured differently. One area, two areas, anaesthetist fees included or not. We help you compare quotes on an equal basis.

Skin quality is a critical factor that some consultations gloss over. Your concierge helps you prepare questions about whether liposuction alone will achieve the result you want.

If you are considering liposuction alongside another procedure (such as abdominoplasty), understanding the combined recovery and cost implications is something we help you navigate.

From Our Clients

How Pirk helped with liposuction

“I spent weeks trying to figure out which surgeon to go with for my liposuction. Pirk took all of that off my plate. They shortlisted surgeons I never would have found on my own, explained the differences clearly, and were there every time I had a question. I walked into my consultation feeling prepared instead of anxious.”
